Basic secondary school, grades 5–9
Level II of full general secondary education. In-person schooling for teenagers who benefit from small classes, an individual approach, psychological and pedagogical support, and a gradual path to independence.

Before enrolment we hold a consultation to understand the child's needs and choose the right level of support.
How learning is organised
Teaching in grades 5–9 follows the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education and curricula approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
The programme covers all learning areas of the state standard: languages and literature, mathematics, natural sciences, social and health education, civic and historical education, informatics, technology, arts and physical education.
After grade 9, students take the state final assessment and receive a certificate of basic secondary education.
We keep an individual approach: where needed, an individual development programme is drawn up for the student, and the level of support is agreed with the family and the school's specialists.
In grades 5–9 we help students to:
- adapt to a new way of learning and a larger number of teachers
- develop independence and responsibility for their own learning
- build planning, time-management and task-completion skills
- build healthy relationships with peers and adults
- understand their own strengths, interests and abilities
- learn to make decisions and take responsibility for their consequences
- gradually move from external help to using their own resources
A student's day
The day is structured so that academic work alternates with rest, sessions with specialists and interest-based activities.

The daily structure is indicative; the final timetable is approved for each school year.
Admission and transfer
Grades 5–9 are formed in stages — as VALORA primary-school students move on to the next level of education and in line with the readiness of the institution.
Transfer from other schools is possible subject to available places. Before enrolment we hold a consultation with the family and meet the child to make sure we can provide the appropriate level of educational and, where needed, additional support.
